Note: These stats are for a farming group. A raid with these stats would be expected to completely clear the instance in about 6 hours. They are a goal to work toward, but are not intended to restrict any Ranger from attending Kara runs. ~Aleu


TANKS
Warriors:
490 defense
11k hp UNBUFFED
11k armor
PROT SPEC OR AT LEAST 3/3 DEFIANCE RECOMMENDED

Paladins:
490 Defense
11k hp UNBUFFED
11k Armor
+200 Spell damage

Druids:
415 Defense (Survival of the Fittest talent is a MUST)
11K hp UNBUFFED
18K armor (In bear form)

Uncrittable: (required)
A boss critically strikes for 200%
Pally/Warriors are uncrittable at 490
Druids at 415 (or 365 defense + 80 resilience rating)
Uncrushable: (Requested because it is very helpful on healer mana)
A boss lands a crushing blow for 150%
Uncrushable=102.4% avoidance (huh? read on)
Avoidance=Dodge+Parry+Block+Miss (miss=mouse over defense)
Add into that 75% Warrior Shield block
Add into that 30% Pally Holy Shield

*note bears cannot really get uncrushable so they have additional armor and stamina to compensate for this.

HEALERS

Priests:
*note:assuming some healing talents
+1250 healing
100 mp5 WHILE CASTING
5k hp 7.5k mana

Paladins:
+900 healing
80 mp5 WHILE CASTING
8k mana
6.5k HP

Druids:
*note: assuming some healing talents
+1000 healing
100 mp5 WHILE CASTING
6k hp 7.5k mana

Shamans:
7.5k hp 8k mana
150 mp5 WHILE CASTING
+890-1k healing

DPS

Hunters:
*note these are w/o buffs/aspects
EXCEPT Trueshot Aura
7k-7.5k hp 200 int
1800 AP UNBUFFED
5% hit
18% crit

Mages, Druids, Elemental Shamans:
+550 spell damage (All damage not just one school of magic)
6% spell hit
15% spell crit
6k hp 8.5k mana (WITHOUT AI)

Shadow Priests:
+600 Shadow Damage
6% spell hit
6k hp 8.5k mana (WITHOUT AI)

Rogues:
8k hp
1300 AP (UNBUFFED)
8% hit
20% crit
PREFERABLY WEAPONS WITH 71 DPS OR HIGHER

Warlocks:
+500 spell damage (ALL DAMAGE, NOT JUST SHADOW)
5% spell hit
12% spell crit
350 stam 300 int

Enhancement Shaman:
1000 AP UNBUFFED
7.5k hp 6.5k mana

Kitties:
8k HP
1900 AP (not difficult)
+3-5% hit
25% crit
It helps if you find a weapon with +AP in feral forms, especially if it gives expertise rating.


(these requirments may be adjusted as we gain experience in Kara)

It is imortant that we have these requirements as Kara is not your normal Outland Instance. The bosses here are tougher than normal and heroic instance bosses. Please feel free to post suggestions and advice on achieving these requirements.

Remember: In a 10 man team for Kara, we are only as strong as our weakest link. Every member has a job to do and will be resposible for their gear.

There are some addons that all raiders should have. All of them are linked on our website (rangersofmyst.com) in teh Tips&Tech section.

All tanks MUST have Omen. Everyone else should too
Deadly Boss Mods gives critical boss info and shows timing
CT Raid Assist is also great help in keeping track of tanks and targets to facilitate healing and mob management

Correction on druid tanking:

Must be uncrittable:
- 415 defense
- 365 defense and 80 resilience rating

Armor should be ~18k or higher. It's not difficult to achieve this.



Also, from what I've read it's not possible for anyone to achieve uncrushable. However, shields (probably via block) can reduce the crushability factor.



Kitties:

8k HP
1900 AP (not difficult)
+3-5% hit
25% crit
It helps if you find a weapon with +AP in feral forms, especially if it gives expertise rating.



Another note: the figures in this thread are accurate for most of the boss encounters, and will suffice for Attumen, Moroes, and Maiden. Curator marks the start of the second group of boss and requires slightly better gear. Netherspite, Malchezaar, and Nightbane require much better gear.


(Side note: I would not suggest requiring any addon for raiding, unless you want to let me DPS.)

can you all help? please look me up in the armory and let me know what more i can do...yes, i know my boots are a green item...and that i need to get agi put on them...but...i'm having a hard time meeting the 1800ap...Surv hunters aren't that high without the kind of gear you get from instances such as kara...help???

Your gear will more than suffice for the first few fights in Kara! While it's true that most greens are not as good as blues, the two greens you have are decent items. Replace them as you can, but it doesn't detract from your equips currently.

One suggestion: find a second combat trinket. I know you were mounted when you logged and that could be the reason the Riding Crop was on, but if you don't have a second trinket, get one. I highly suggest Hourglass from Temporus in Black Morass. There are other nice ones too, such as Abacus from Panthaleon in the Mechanar.

Also, keep in mind that Survival is more of a burst damage build than Marksmanship. Criticals are very important to a Survival hunter because they proc the Expose Weakness debuff and save mana (via Thrill of the Hunt). (This is another reason to invest in Master Tactician.) With War Talisman and Abacus stacked on top of an Expose Weakness debuff, you can probably pull an additional 500-600 attack power at times.

But, yeah, you should be fine for Attumen, Moroes (where your primary job will likely be trapping), and Maiden. A few upgrades will prepare you for Curator, Illhoof, and Shade of Aran.

]]]i have one...i've been using bladefist's breath...i had the riding crop on because i just got done with bombing in skettis.. =)

and remember gear is only part of the equation...

researching optimum raiding Specs helps alot. I recommend http://elitistjerks.com for a wealth on information on spell rotation, spec builds and items you want to get.

I used it both on my warrior (helped get my sustained threat per second over the 700TPS mark) and on my shadow priest (helped get my sustained dps >750dps).

Add to this, play style and a willingness to learn...and you have a winning compilation...even when you are slightly undergeared.

My guild was good enough to take my shadow priets through when I was wearing almost all greens...by the end of the kara run, I had 7 epics...and my +spell dmg had grown from +400 up to +800.
