(Note: This is a work in progress. I'll have more to add later.)
Always attracted to the primal beauty of the natural world, Driea felt called to become one with that world. At a very young age - fully grown physically, but still very much a child by the standards of Elves, Driea set out into the forests of Auberdine to begin in search of something she could only find within herself.
Deeply wrapped in the world around her, she fell deep into meditation, and began to see a much earlier Azeroth, unspoiled by the coming of the mortal races, and covered in forest so thick only the beasts within could move about.
Waking within this world, she walked forth, witnessing it's beauty and it's savagery for what seemed like weeks. All around her was lush green plants and the chattering of birds and other animals. She could see, and understand that everything was in balance.
Eventually, she came upon a stream, clear and pristine, flowing so smoothly she could see her reflection over the weathered stones below. She reached out to touch these cool waters, and as she did, her spirit drew back to present times. The water clouded, and the plants withered before her eyes, and even the animals could be seen to suffer. Shocked and disgusted, she turned away, and there stood an ancient druid of the forest.
She spoke to her... you have seen now firsthand that things are not as they should be. I can tell that it is a wound upon your spirit, just as it is a wound upon this land. Nature calls out to you for help, will you answer it's call?
The answer came clearly, without thought, from Driea's heart. "I will. I feel the pain of the land, and it's creatures." she spoke.
"Then you have much work to do, and much to learn. I wish you well upon your path. Your journey continues back upon Teldrassil, the land there is nearly as troubled as this one. Go there young Druid, and know that as you serve nature, it is one with your spirit."
Driea left, back to the lush branches of Teldrassil, and there, her journey really began... |
